We always celebrate my Dad’s birthday in the mountains in NH. This year was extra special since he was turning 85. I made these cozy tiger socks to celebrate the milestone for this Princeton Alum. He put them on and immediately started singing songs from his Alma Mater.
Hurricane Work
After spending the day yesterday preparing my boat for the storm, I grabbed these worn socks off the shelf and tried two different darning methods. In need of a darning egg, but not having one on hand, I found the perfect thing! This little racing glass (third place) worked like a charm. Now the hubby is happy to have these back in rotation.
Kaffe Fassett Sweaters
Mom and I dug out our Kaffe Fassett sweaters this past weekend. We made them after gushing over his book, Glorious Knits in the mid 80’s. Yes, these sweaters are over 30 years old! I used massive amounts of stash and Mom used yarn from her yarn shop, Charlotte’s Web. We are counting down the days until we get to “meet” Kaffe at a virtual presentation with the Boston Knitting Guild in May.

My First Trunk Show
It was a gorgeous early October day at Plymouth Harbor Knits for my first trunk show. On display were all ten of my knitting patterns. I was able to wear my newly finished blue version of the Porch Sweater. Thanks to Jenn and Paul at Plymouth Harbor Knits for supporting my small, growing business and thanks to the awesome knitters that stopped by!
Design plans for the New Year!
These are the yarns for 4 projects that are already underway or planned for 2020. I picked out all of these colors before I learned that the Pantone Color of the Year is “Classic Blue” Blue is one of my favorite colors so I am not surprised. I can’t wait to share these patterns with you!
Knitting at Symphony Hall
I am working on one of my recent designs as I listen to the LA Symphony at Symphony Hall in Boston. This is one of our favorite shows of the Celebrity Series Season! I found the yarn for this project at Rhinebeck and it is incredibly beautiful! I will be posting this soon when the sweater and pattern are finished.
New England Fiber Festival
It was great to get a super soft hug from Georgia of Long Island Farm. She and her buddies created the yarn for my Golden Hour Shawl.
My first Rhinebeck!!!
I was joined by friends Cindy and Kate and my mom at Rhinebeck to show my new patter, the Porch Sweater. Cindy made it in pink and my mom made it in blue. Kate wore my first attempt that was too big. We had so much fun and were lucky enough to be part of Krsty Glass’s video, “Tell me about your Rhinebeck Sweater”
